Heathrow Lounge Access Guide 2026: Which Card Gets You In?
The best Heathrow lounge is the one you can actually enter from your departure terminal. This guide compares Priority Pass, Amex Centurion, airline lounges, guest rules, closures and realistic backups at Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Which Heathrow lounge can you use?
Start with your departure terminal. Eligible Priority Pass memberships currently list independent lounges in T2, T3, T4 and T5. The Amex Centurion Lounge is in T3. British Airways Galleries and the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse have separate airline or status-based access rules; Priority Pass does not unlock them.
Your exact card, membership type, guest entitlement and the lounge’s capacity restrictions determine entry. Check Heathrow’s Priority Pass directory.
Club Aspire T5 is scheduled to close for refurbishment
Priority Pass’s Club Aspire Terminal 5 listing states that the lounge will close November 2, 2026, through April 16, 2027, and reopen as a No1 Lounge. If you travel during this period, do not plan on using Club Aspire.
The wider Priority Pass directory may continue displaying the lounge until its listing updates. Check the individual lounge notice, your membership app and the operator before departure. Terminal 5 also has a Plaza Premium Lounge listing, but confirm that your specific card or Priority Pass membership is accepted.
Heathrow lounge access is terminal-specific. A lounge in T3 is not a practical substitute for a T5 departure merely because both are at LHR. Choose an eligible lounge in your actual departures area, and allow time for security, walking and boarding.
Heathrow lounges by terminal
The independent lounge options below reflect Priority Pass’s Heathrow directory at the editorial review date. Airline lounges follow different ticket and loyalty rules. Individual listings and opening hours can change, and entry is not guaranteed during busy periods.
| Departure terminal | Independent lounge choices to check | Other notable lounges |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal 2 | No1 Lounge; Plaza Premium | United Club and Star Alliance carrier lounges |
| Terminal 3 | No1 Lounge; My Lounge; Clubrooms (supplement); Plaza Premium (limited hours); Club Aspire subject to current operator access | Amex Centurion; Virgin Clubhouse; Admirals Club; Cathay Pacific and others |
| Terminal 4 | Plaza Premium; Blush Lounge | Airline-specific lounges |
| Terminal 5 | Plaza Premium; Club Aspire until scheduled closure | BA Galleries First, Galleries Club and Concorde Room |
Terminal 2
Compare No1 and Plaza Premium for eligible lounge-program entry. United and Star Alliance lounges have separate rules.

The broadest mix of independent lounges, Amex Centurion and premium airline facilities.
T3 details →Terminal 4
Plaza Premium and Blush are useful starting points, subject to your membership and flight.
T4 details →Terminal 2: No1, Plaza Premium and airline lounges
No1 Lounge T2 and Plaza Premium T2 appear in the Priority Pass Heathrow directory. The listed opening hours at review were 05:00–21:00 for No1 and 05:00–21:30 for Plaza Premium, but recheck for your flight date. Plaza Premium warns that entry can be restricted when the lounge is busy.
United Club and other Star Alliance lounges: These are not interchangeable with independent Priority Pass lounges. Eligible premium-cabin tickets, alliance status or certain club memberships may grant access, depending on the operating carrier and itinerary. Do not assume that holding a general premium travel card provides access.
Best decision: For a traveler relying on Priority Pass, check both independent lounges in the app. For a Star Alliance premium traveler, check the operating airline’s lounge policy first.
Terminal 3: Centurion, independent lounges and premium airline clubs
American Express Centurion Lounge: Heathrow lists the lounge after security in T3. Eligible American Express Platinum and Centurion cardmembers can access it under the applicable terms, with a qualifying boarding pass and any relevant time restrictions. Guest charges, spending-based guest privileges and flight rules vary by card product and issuing country, so consult American Express’s current access terms. Do not assume that US guest pricing automatically applies to every international card.
Independent lounge alternatives: Priority Pass currently lists No1 Lounge Heathrow T3, My Lounge T3, Clubrooms T3 (additional fee applies) and Plaza Premium T3 (listed with a shorter operating window). Heathrow also identifies Club Aspire at T3; confirm the particular lounge’s program eligibility before relying on it. These are alternatives, not guarantees of entry.
Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse: Primarily relevant to eligible Upper Class passengers and Flying Club Gold members, with qualifying partner arrangements where offered. Flying Club Silver alone is not a standard Clubhouse access benefit. Check Virgin’s Gold benefit rules and your ticket.
American Airlines Admirals Club: Heathrow’s Terminal 3 lounge listing includes the Admirals Club. Entry depends on eligible memberships, cards, cabin class or status and qualifying travel—not simply any American Airlines ticket. Verify at American Airlines before travel.
Centurion and independent lounges may operate waitlists or restrict entry at busy times. This guide does not present an unsupported 30–60-minute wait estimate or claim one independent lounge is universally “top rated.” Check real-time availability and prioritize boarding time.
Terminal 4: Plaza Premium and Blush
Plaza Premium T4 is listed in Priority Pass’s Heathrow directory; its individual listing specifies international and in-transit flights and warns of possible capacity restrictions. Blush Lounge by Plaza Premium Group also appears in the T4 directory, with separate opening hours and conditions. Check the exact listing rather than assuming the two lounges have identical terms.
Best decision: Confirm the lounge’s airside location, current hours, and acceptance of your membership before security. If the lounge is full, stay within your departure terminal and use its dining or seating options.
Terminal 5: Plaza Premium, Club Aspire and BA lounges
Plaza Premium T5: Appears in the Priority Pass Heathrow directory. Confirm your individual membership, opening hours and capacity before planning a visit.
Club Aspire T5: Priority Pass currently lists the lounge but explicitly announces closure from November 2, 2026 to April 16, 2027 for refurbishment, after which it is expected to rebrand as No1 Lounge. Do not count on Club Aspire during that window.
British Airways Galleries Club: Generally intended for qualifying premium-cabin travelers and eligible oneworld/BA status holders, subject to itinerary rules. Galleries Club locations include the main T5 departures area and the B-gates satellite. A Priority Pass card does not independently grant access.
Galleries First versus Concorde Room: These are different facilities. Galleries First is a status/premium-access lounge in the main Terminal 5 departures complex; the Concorde Room is a separate, more restricted facility associated with eligible BA First and other specifically qualifying passengers. Do not confuse either with the Galleries Club lounge near B36. Consult Heathrow’s BA lounge locations and British Airways for the exact access criteria.
Which credit card gets you into Heathrow lounges?
A card may provide access to a lounge network, but that does not mean every Heathrow lounge participates. In particular, Priority Pass does not grant BA Galleries, Concorde Room or Virgin Clubhouse access.
Card-issued Priority Pass benefits also differ from paid Priority Pass memberships, and some issuer versions exclude certain experiences. Verify the lounge inside the account or app linked to your actual card.
Don’t choose a card by lounge count alone
If you depart from T5 most often, a T3 Centurion Lounge is not your everyday benefit. Compare eligible T5 facilities, guest costs and the annual fee before applying.
| Access method | Likely Heathrow use | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Eligible Amex Platinum | Centurion T3; participating Priority Pass lounges after enrollment where applicable | Guest rules, visit conditions and issuer country vary |
| Chase Sapphire Reserve | Participating Priority Pass lounges | Verify card-specific guest terms and eligible locations |
| Capital One Venture X | Participating Priority Pass lounges after enrollment | 2026 guest fees may apply; no Centurion access through Venture X alone |
| United Club membership / qualifying card | United Club T2, subject to United’s rules | Qualifying itinerary and entry conditions apply |
| Eligible airline cabin or status | BA Galleries, Virgin Clubhouse, oneworld/Star Alliance partner lounges | Rules depend on airline, cabin, alliance, status and flight |
| Paid lounge booking | Selected independent lounges in your terminal | Advance booking and entry availability vary |
Can you bring a guest into a Heathrow lounge?
Sometimes—but not automatically. Your guest allowance depends on the specific card, lounge network, lounge operator and any annual-spending qualification. Guest access may be limited by capacity even when your membership allows guests.
- Venture X Priority Pass: Capital One’s 2026 policy changes make paid guest entry a material cost. Confirm the current per-person rate and whether any exceptions apply in your Capital One account before departure.
- Amex Centurion: Guest access can require a charge unless your eligible card meets a specific waiver or benefit rule. Do not apply a generic US fee to every card or market.
- Chase-issued Priority Pass: Guest allowances are determined by the current card and Priority Pass terms, not by the lounge’s public day-pass price.
- Airline lounges: Guest entitlements are determined by eligible cabin, status and airline-specific rules.
For household lounge planning, multiply guest fee × number of guests × expected visits. Compare that total against an additional eligible membership or a one-off paid lounge booking. See our lounge guest policies guide.
“My Amex Platinum includes Priority Pass, so it opens every lounge in Heathrow.” No. Priority Pass is a participating network. It does not replace an airline ticket, status qualification or Centurion-specific eligibility.
Can you visit a lounge in another Heathrow terminal?
Do not plan on it for a normal departure. Heathrow terminals have separate security and airside arrangements. A traveler departing T5 cannot assume they can enter T3 simply to use the Centurion Lounge. Transfers for connecting passengers follow airport and airline procedures and may involve additional screening, transport and time.
Check your confirmed departure terminal and gate first. Only consider another terminal’s lounge if Heathrow and your airline explicitly permit that transfer for your itinerary and you have ample time. Lounge access itself does not confer permission to cross security or use a terminal transfer.
Can you buy a Heathrow lounge day pass?
Some independent lounges offer paid entry or advance reservations, even without a premium credit card. Prices vary by date, duration, capacity and booking channel. Rather than publishing unverified fixed £35–£60 price bands, compare the live quote for your terminal.
When a day pass makes sense
You have a long layover, want a predictable seat and refreshments, or only visit Heathrow occasionally.
When to skip it
You have a short wait before boarding, the lounge is far from your gate, or the price exceeds what you’d spend in the terminal.
What if your Heathrow lounge is full or closed?
- T2: Check No1 and Plaza Premium individually; one may restrict entry while the other accepts guests.
- T3: If Centurion is unavailable, check the current Priority Pass listings for No1, My Lounge or another eligible independent lounge in T3.
- T4: Check Plaza Premium and Blush for their different eligibility and opening-hour restrictions.
- T5: During Club Aspire’s announced refurbishment, check Plaza Premium T5. BA lounges are not a Priority Pass fallback.
- Boarding soon: Stay near your gate. A lounge visit is not worth missing your flight.

Heathrow lounge access FAQs
Which Heathrow lounges accept Priority Pass in 2026?
Priority Pass currently lists participating independent lounges across T2, T3, T4 and T5, including No1 and Plaza Premium options. Exact participation, opening hours, guest rules and capacity limits depend on the lounge and membership. Check the Heathrow Priority Pass directory for your terminal.
Can I use the Amex Centurion Lounge when departing Terminal 5?
The Centurion Lounge is in Terminal 3. Do not assume a T5 departure permits access to T3 after security. Plan around lounges in your confirmed departure terminal unless Heathrow and your airline explicitly permit the transfer.
Does Priority Pass give access to British Airways Galleries?
No. BA Galleries lounges use qualifying airline ticket, alliance status and other airline-defined eligibility rules. A Priority Pass membership alone does not grant entry.
Is the Terminal 5 Club Aspire Lounge closing?
Yes. Its individual Priority Pass listing announces refurbishment closure from November 2, 2026 through April 16, 2027, with an expected reopening under the No1 Lounge brand. Confirm the latest notice before travel.
Does Virgin Flying Club Silver provide Clubhouse access?
Not as a standard Flying Club Silver benefit. Virgin Atlantic lists Clubhouse access among Gold-tier benefits. Eligible Upper Class tickets and certain qualifying partner arrangements may also provide access under their terms.
Which Heathrow lounge is best for an economy passenger?
There is no universal winner. Choose an independent lounge that accepts your card or paid booking in the terminal from which you depart. Compare current entry rules, price, opening hours, capacity and distance from your gate.
Can Venture X cardholders bring free guests into Heathrow Priority Pass lounges?
Do not assume so. Capital One changed guest benefits in 2026. Confirm your current guest fee and any applicable exceptions through your card benefits before traveling.
Are Heathrow lounge entry and day passes guaranteed?
No. Participating lounges can restrict access because of capacity, operating hours, reservation policies or eligibility conditions. A confirmed paid reservation may provide more certainty, but check its terms.

Pick the lounge your ticket and card can actually open.
For most Heathrow departures, start with your terminal and eligible independent lounges. Use Centurion only when your Amex benefit and T3 departure line up; use airline lounges only when your cabin or status qualifies. Recheck the T5 refurbishment before travel.
