Heathrow Airport Lounges 2026: Which Lounges Can You Actually Use?
At Heathrow, the best lounge is usually the one you can enter in the terminal your flight actually uses. A premium credit card does not automatically unlock British Airways Galleries, and a Priority Pass membership does not guarantee admission when a lounge is full.
Which Heathrow lounges accept credit-card access?
Priority Pass lists independent lounges in T2, T3, T4 and T5. Examples include No1 Lounge T2/T3, Plaza Premium T4 and Club Aspire T5. Eligible Amex Platinum members can also access the Centurion Lounge in T3. British Airways Galleries are not Priority Pass lounges. Always check your card’s exact lounge directory before travel.

Do not plan around the old Terminal 3 Aspire recommendation
Some older Heathrow guides recommend Club Aspire Terminal 3 as the default Priority Pass choice. Current Priority Pass and Amex listings instead highlight No1 Lounge and My Lounge in T3; Amex’s listing identifies the former Club Aspire T3 location as temporarily closed. Also, Priority Pass lists a scheduled Club Aspire T5 refurbishment closure from November 2, 2026 to April 16, 2027. Check these updates before making a lounge plan.
Heathrow lounge access by terminal
Heathrow has four passenger terminals: T2, T3, T4 and T5. This is a quick orientation table, not a promise that every cardholder will be admitted.
| Terminal | Examples of independent lounges | Other premium options | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| T2 | No1 Lounge; Plaza Premium | United and Star Alliance carrier lounges | Priority Pass membership or Amex benefit; airline/status rules |
| T3 | No1 Lounge; My Lounge; Clubrooms (supplement may apply) | Amex Centurion; Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse; airline lounges | Exact card eligibility; avoid outdated Club Aspire T3 listings |
| T4 | Plaza Premium; Blush Lounge | Airline-operated lounges | Live network listing and capacity |
| T5 | Club Aspire; Plaza Premium | British Airways Galleries and other BA lounges | Club Aspire planned closure from Nov 2, 2026; BA cabin/status eligibility |

Which lounge can you use with your card or ticket?
Start with the access program, then check your departure terminal and the exact terms of your membership.
Priority Pass
Use the current Priority Pass directory for your membership. Lounge visits, guest fees, pre-booking charges and exclusions depend on your plan or card issuer.
American Express Platinum
Eligible cards may access the Centurion Lounge at T3 and additional partner lounges. UK and US Platinum benefits are not identical; select your actual card in Amex’s lounge finder.
Airline ticket or status
BA Galleries, Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse and alliance lounges have their own cabin, airline and frequent-flyer rules. A generic Priority Pass membership does not replace those requirements.
The most luxurious lounge is not necessarily your best choice. A lounge in another terminal may be impractical or inaccessible, and a busy premium lounge can be less useful than an available independent lounge close to your gate. Choose by terminal, eligibility, time and capacity—not brand alone.
Where to go at Heathrow
Terminal 2: No1 Lounge and Plaza Premium
Terminal 2 serves many Star Alliance departures. Heathrow lists No1 Lounge T2 after security, with published hours of 05:00–21:00. Heathrow also lists a Plaza Premium departure lounge. If you’re flying in an eligible premium cabin or hold qualifying alliance status, check your airline lounge first.
Terminal 3: Centurion, No1 and My Lounge
Centurion Lounge: The Amex lounge is in Terminal 3, Level 2, Area A, after security. Eligible cards can enter under their own card-specific access and guest rules. Access is subject to available space.
No1 Lounge: A current Priority Pass option, with published hours of 05:00–22:00. Heathrow describes buffet food, a staffed bar and seating for working or relaxing.
My Lounge: Another listed T3 independent lounge, with published hours of 05:00–22:00. Its more casual setting may appeal to families and travelers seeking a different atmosphere.
Clubrooms: An upgraded option with hosted service, but Priority Pass identifies an additional fee. Do not assume it is a standard complimentary visit.

Terminal 4: Plaza Premium and Blush Lounge
Priority Pass lists Plaza Premium Lounge T4 and Blush Lounge by Plaza Premium Group. Its directory currently shows Plaza Premium hours of 05:00–22:00. Your membership may have different access conditions at the two lounges, so compare them in the app before heading through the terminal.
Terminal 5: Club Aspire, Plaza Premium and BA lounges
For independent lounge access, Priority Pass lists Club Aspire T5 and Plaza Premium T5. Heathrow lists Plaza Premium after security, with published hours of 04:45–21:30. Club Aspire currently lists 05:00–21:00, but Priority Pass warns of a planned closure November 2, 2026–April 16, 2027 for refurbishment and rebranding. If you’re traveling during that period, check Plaza Premium and other current alternatives.
British Airways Galleries and other BA lounges are separate from Priority Pass. Eligibility can depend on cabin, frequent-flyer status, route and alliance rules. Check your boarding pass and BA’s lounge policy rather than assuming only a BA-operated ticket qualifies.
Can you change terminals just to visit a lounge?
Usually, you should not plan to. Heathrow’s four terminals have separate security and departure arrangements. Being eligible for a lounge does not mean you can enter another terminal’s departures area.
| Your situation | What Heathrow advises |
|---|---|
| One-ticket flight connection | Follow the purple Flight Connections signs; a designated transfer bus may take you between terminals. Connecting passengers pass security before their next departure. |
| Separate tickets / self-connection | You may need to clear immigration, collect baggage, transfer landside, check in again and clear security. |
| Lounge visit in another terminal | Do not assume you can access that terminal. Stay in the terminal assigned to your departing flight unless Heathrow and your airline confirm otherwise. |
There is no safe universal 30–45-minute transfer promise: travel time depends on the terminals, connection type, security, immigration and queues. Follow Heathrow’s specific instructions for your itinerary.
Four Heathrow lounge myths to avoid
- “Any Priority Pass card gets me into every lounge.” False. Issuer exclusions, visit limits, guest charges, capacity and participating locations vary.
- “Amex Platinum opens BA Galleries.” No. BA lounges use their own ticket, status and alliance eligibility rules.
- “Aspire T3 is definitely the best Priority Pass lounge.” Outdated. Current directories do not support treating the former Club Aspire T3 as an available default option.
- “I can move from T3 to T5 for a lounge and be back quickly.” Do not assume you can access a different terminal’s departures area at all.
What this guide is—and is not—based on
This guide compares Heathrow, Priority Pass and American Express operator listings and airport connection instructions. It does not claim that the author personally inspected every Heathrow lounge in 2026, and it does not turn unverified forum anecdotes into measured wait-time statistics. Operator listings and policies can change between checks.
What to do if your first lounge is full or closed
- In T3: If Centurion is at capacity, check No1 Lounge or My Lounge in your actual card’s directory. Both can also restrict entry.
- In T5: Check Club Aspire’s refurbishment notice. During the planned closure, check Plaza Premium eligibility and paid-entry availability.
- In T2 or T4: Compare independent lounges listed for your terminal; do not switch terminals solely to chase a different lounge.
- Near boarding: Skip the lounge. A quick meal or quiet gate is a better outcome than risking your flight.

Heathrow airport lounge FAQs
Can I use Priority Pass at Heathrow?
Yes. Priority Pass lists participating lounges across Heathrow Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5. Your specific membership, issuer restrictions, lounge capacity and departure terminal determine whether you can enter.
Which Heathrow terminal has the Centurion Lounge?
The American Express Centurion Lounge is in Terminal 3, after security. Eligible American Express cardholders must meet the lounge access and guest rules for their particular card.
Is Club Aspire in Heathrow Terminal 3 open?
The former Club Aspire Terminal 3 location is listed as temporarily closed or replaced in current operator listings. Priority Pass lists No1 Lounge and My Lounge among Terminal 3 options. Check the live directory before travel.
Can Priority Pass get me into British Airways Galleries?
No. Priority Pass does not list British Airways Galleries lounges as participating Heathrow lounges. Access to British Airways lounges depends on eligible cabin class, frequent-flyer status and airline rules.
Can I use a Terminal 3 lounge when departing from Terminal 5?
Do not assume so. Heathrow terminals have separate departure-security areas, and lounge access generally requires a valid departing itinerary for the relevant terminal. Use a lounge in your own departure terminal.
How do I transfer between Heathrow terminals?
Passengers on through-ticket connections should follow the purple Flight Connections signs and the designated transfer route. Self-connecting passengers on separate bookings may need immigration, baggage collection, landside transport, check-in and security again.
Are Heathrow lounges guaranteed to admit Priority Pass members?
No. Participating lounges may restrict entry when full. Some allow paid advance reservations, and access conditions vary by membership and card issuer.
Does Capital One Venture X include free Priority Pass guests?
Do not assume guests are free. Capital One changed personal Venture X lounge guest rules in 2026. Check the issuer terms for your card and the Priority Pass visit before bringing guests.
